For the second week of class, I must say I am pretty proud of what I had gotten done (at least near the tail-end of the week, a lot of time was wasted for me). Here's what I came up with:
It starts off as an idea: this scene of a hapless Taproots employee getting launched from his boat by some large creature. The core idea behind this is not to change, but there may be some details within it that do.
The next step is figuring out ways to make the details tell a story, as you can see with these boat ideas. I liked the idea of a bunch of fans serving the function of swamp-cruising airboat, but after I got some feedback from a friend I decided to try the same idea with more "simplistic" technology and I love how it turned out.
The same process went in to making the kinds of buildings that these people would construct out here in the middle of nowhere. Ranging from simple to complex, chances are that they would be a little more simplified when put into the background of the scene since I do not want the silhouettes to take away from the focal points. Still, an idea put down is better than one not put down, and it can always be used at some point in the future!
